This page explains how to use the Chat to inquire about your meetings.

The AI Chat is one of the most powerful tools from Upmeet to analyze and understand your meetings.

🤖 1. What is the Chat?

1.1. Definition

The Chat is a conversational interface that allows you to ask questions about your meetings and get intelligent answers, based directly on:

  • the content of the transcriptions,

  • the information from your meetings,

  • their summaries, decisions, actions, participants...

1.2. What is it used for?

  • Getting a quick summary

  • Asking specific questions (e.g., "What decisions were made?")

  • Finding information without re-reading the entire transcription

  • Comparing multiple meetings

  • Searching for actions, objects, or recurring themes

2.1. How to open the chat window?

From the Chat tab, you will see:

  • your previous conversations,

  • a Start a Chat button.

2.2. What happens when you start a chat?

A window opens on the right with:


  • examples of questions you can ask,

  • suggestions for useful queries,

  • a field to type your own question.

2.3. Examples of Suggested Questions

  • "What are the key points of the meeting?"

  • "What decisions were made?"

  • "Who talked about [Subject]?"

  • "What are the next action items?"

These suggestions help beginner users formulate their first queries.

❓ 3. Asking a Question in the Chat

3.1. How to ask a question?

  1. Type your question in the bar at the bottom of the chat window.

  2. Press Enter or click Send.

The Chat then analyzes the selected meetings and generates a response based on their actual content.


3.2. What type of questions can I ask?

You can ask anything regarding your meetings, such as:

  • summarizing a meeting,

  • extracting decisions,

  • identifying participants,

  • finding discussed topics,

  • comparing multiple meetings,

  • understanding the progression of a project over meetings,

  • retrieving a mentioned action.

🎯 4. Using Chat Filters

Filters allow you to indicate to the AI Chat which meetings it should base its responses on.

4.1. Accessing the Filters

At the top right of the chat window, click on the Filters icon.

You can filter by:

  • Dates (start date / end date)

  • Tags (all the tags you have created)

  • Specific Meetings (individual selection)

4.2. What are filters for?

They allow limiting the Chat's responses to a specific scope.

Examples:

  • "Show me the decisions made in last month's meetings."

  • "Summarize only the meetings tagged Sales."

  • "Compare the meetings of Project X."

4.3. How to apply the filters?

  1. Open the filters.

  2. Select the period, tags, or desired meetings.

  3. Click on Apply Filters.

All further questions asked will rely only on these filtered meetings.

🔁 5. Previous Chats

5.1. Where to find your past conversations?

In the Chat tab, you will find a Recent Conversations section.

Each conversation represents a chat that took place in the past.

5.2. What is it used for?

  • Reviewing previous analyses

  • Revisiting responses generated by the AI

  • Easily re-asking the same questions on new meetings

  • Tracking the progression of a project through AI discussions

5.3. How to open a previous chat?

  1. Click on Previous Chat.

  2. The window opens with the conversation history.

You can then:

  • re-read the responses,

  • ask a new question,

  • change filters to adapt results to other meetings.

🧭 6. Querying Multiple Meetings at Once

The Chat can simultaneously analyze all filtered meetings.

What is it used for?

  • Gathering decisions from a month

  • Identifying trends of a project

  • Making a mega-summary of multiple meetings

  • Comparing meeting minutes

Examples of useful questions:

  • "What common decisions appear in meetings tagged Product?"

  • "What topics were discussed in all meetings this month?"
